Monthly cost calculator

Building the product is a one-off number. Running it is the one that repeats. Pick the services your product actually uses, set your traffic and data volume, and see what the bill looks like each month — infrastructure and maintenance, separated.

How these numbers are built

Each service starts at its realistic floor — often zero, because modern hosting and managed databases have generous free tiers — and is then scaled by two dials: how many people visit, and how much data and media the product moves. Flat lines like a domain renewal ignore both. AI is weighted hardest because it is metered per call, and it is the single most common cause of a surprise invoice.

Maintenance is shown as a separate band on purpose. Infrastructure costs are what you pay other companies; a care plan is what you pay to keep the thing alive, patched and improving. Deciding not to buy one is a valid choice — as long as it is a choice, and not a surprise six months after launch.

Monthly cost questions, answered

How much does it cost to run a website per month?
A marketing site on modern edge hosting with a domain and analytics typically runs €5–€30 per month. A web app with accounts, a database, file storage and transactional email is more often €20–€120 per month at early traffic, before any maintenance work.
What makes monthly costs go up?
Three things, in order: AI calls, media bandwidth and database reads. Traffic alone rarely breaks a budget — uncached AI features and unoptimised images do.
Do I need a maintenance plan?
If the site is static brochureware, no. If real users log in, take payments or upload data, yes: dependency updates, backups and broken third-party integrations are not optional, and doing them yourself costs roughly a day a month.
Are payment processing fees included?
They are shown separately because they scale with revenue rather than usage. The calculator uses a typical 1.5%–2.9% plus a fixed per-transaction fee, which is where most European card processors land.
Is this estimate a quote?
No. It is the same arithmetic used when budgeting a project's running costs, made public so you can plan. Exact numbers depend on your provider mix and are confirmed in writing before launch.
